St. George’s Hotel is an 81 bedroom luxury seafront hotel on the North Wales Coast. It combines all the comforts of a 4-star hotel with Victorian elegance and stunning panoramic coastal views of Llandudno.
Hospitality Furniture Needed for Re-launch
Philip Newmarch, the hotel manager was working towards a re-launch of the St George’s Hotel following a soft refurbishment to the establishment. For this reason, Philip called upon Lugo to supply all the loose furniture for the reception lobby, restaurant and bar areas.
Contract Seating Design
Philip wanted to create a wow factor for his guests when they entered the hotel and this was achieved with the cool contemporary styling of an eclectic mix of several different styles of contract seating chosen from the Lugo website and customised in contract fabric from Panaz in tones of pacific blue, grey and putty.
The mix of lounge chairs, sofas, tub chairs, armchairs, bar stools and ottomans filled the reception lobby and bar areas in a combination of faux velvets and textured fabrics while a sea of Moira restaurant chairs in a putty colour tone created a contrasting consistency in the restaurant. All areas were united with a dark walnut stain to all chair and table frames.
The coffee and dining tables which were supplied also followed suit with an eclectic mix of bases and leg styles stained in dark walnut. The different styles consisted of tapered legs, curvaceous legs, oversized turned columns and double oval pedestals bases with ridge detail.
The lush fabric colourways complemented the different shapes of each contract seating design and unified the aesthetic direction. A hint of luxury and personality was also added to each seating style through delicate detailing.
Contract seating detailing:
- Contrasting piping
- Deep buttoning
- Split contrasting upholstery
- Fluting
Feature Loose Furniture Styles to Stand Out from the Crowd
The distinct personalities of the modern boutique Heather sofas and lounge chairs with high back deep buttoned upholstery and wing detail juxtaposed against the contemporary geometric framed Bohemia lounge chairs with abstract ski legs was perfectly peppered amongst the other seating designs as feature chairs to add distinguished finesse to the scheme.
Loose Furniture Installation
In total, 153 pieces of hospitality furniture were supplied in an eclectic mix of 17 different styles which included 132 items of contract seating and 21 tables. Lugo worked closely with the Hotel Manager to complete in time for the re-launch of the hotel with installation of the loose furniture on delivery at the 4-star hotel by the sea.
“The furniture has received fantastic feedback and makes a wow impact as you arrive at the hotel, Lugo has been supportive and detailed. I will most certainly be using them again.”
