Bespoke Furniture Design Process

Whether you own a hotel, bar, restaurant or club, we can create luxury bespoke furniture to meet your décor requirements. From large hotel headboards for historic buildings with oversized rooms, to banquette seating for an unusually shaped bay window in your bar or restaurant, our bespoke furniture manufacturers are skilled in producing truly unique pieces based on your design preferences. So, what does the bespoke furniture design process involve?

Creating Bespoke Contract Furniture

Here at Lugo, creating bespoke contract furniture begins with you. Whatever your furniture requirements, our expert manufacturers will work with you from concept to completion to bring your idea to life. Steps to buying bespoke furniture are:

Step 1

Step 1

The first step in the bespoke furniture design process is to make contact with an experienced furniture manufacturer like Lugo that specialises in bespoke design so that you can discuss your specific ideas and any concept design that you may have.

Step 2

Step 2

The second step is to create an initial sketch which will act as a design brief for our bespoke furniture manufacturers, enabling them to envision the piece in exactly the way you want it. You can also discuss your ideas with the team at Lugo.

Step 3

Step 3

The next step is to decide on timber stain colour, upholstery fabric and any detailing, such as studs, buttoning, stitching or piping. We have an extensive selection of fabrics and finishes available – from velvet to faux leather and more. All our upholstery fabrics meet British Standards, meaning your furniture will be well engineered to withstand the rigour of a busy hotel environment.

Step 4

Step 4

Once you’ve chosen these details, lead times and quantities needed can be confirmed with the team.

Step 5

Step 5

You will then receive a quote from Lugo, reviewing material costs and design if necessary.

Step 6

Step 6

Our team will then manufacture your piece entirely from scratch, no matter the shape or size you have in mind. With bespoke pieces, you can design your own furniture with the flexibility that customisation does not allow.

Step 7

Step 7

Once your piece is finished, the final step is to organise delivery and installation.

7 Steps to Bespoke Furniture Design Process

Things to Consider When Designing Bespoke Furniture

All of our hospitality furniture is manufactured with the utmost precision to provide you with the longevity that you require for each and every piece. Every joint is glued, screwed and dowelled delivering a strong robust frame for your furniture design. Equally, all of the fabric we specify exceeds upholstery regulations for contract furniture with a Martindale rub test of 40,000 + rubs, and all material, both fabrics and foam, are compliant with Crib 5 fabric regulations. In addition to this, every fabric that we use for our bespoke service is Fire Retardant (FR) treated. Not only will your bespoke design look perfect, but it will be built to last and manufactured to British Contract Standards.

Individuality

Our talented furniture designers are experienced in creating one-of-a-kind pieces based on your furniture requirements, resulting in hospitality décor like no other.

Practicality

As well as meeting your aesthetic requirements, our bespoke furniture manufacturers ensure that stability and mechanics are at the forefront of production, so that your piece functions as it is intended to.

Quality

Although designed from scratch, bespoke hotel furniture still needs to meet the stringent standards of contract furniture. Critical joints will be glued, screwed and dowelled for strength, whilst upholstery fabrics must comply with fire safety regulations.
