Our History

Lugo is a well-established British contract furniture manufacturer with a head office based in the heart of the Midlands, just 15 miles from Birmingham. The company has an exemplary pedigree for supplying its loyal customer base with high quality furniture. Our customer base includes multi-sited blue chip hotel and leisure operators as well as independent hotels and restaurants across the UK, Europe, MEA, and the USA. Although it shares its name with a busy city in Northwest Spain, it actually has no such connection, and in fact takes its name from the founder’s two sons, Luke and Hugo. For many years, the company operated via three split sites, before taking the decision in 2016 to base its head office and its main manufacturing facility under one roof.

Today, the company operates from two quite different sites. The head office, and an impressive 30,000 sq. ft. central manufacturing facility, are both situated on Engine Lane on the Coppice Estate. This sits just outside Walsall in the West Midlands, on what was originally the site of the locally historical Coppice Coal Mining company. Being located so centrally allows us to efficiently service our clients throughout the UK. Our experienced team also operates from a project management, design and sales office in Clerkenwell, which is in the centre of London’s epicentre for high quality furnishings.
